Using a fun approach to learning, children and teenagers can be exposed successfully to a foreign language from an early age. Our curriculum distinguishes between various age groups, beginning with the very young, using mainly audio-visual exercises. Older children will be exposed to further language skills as reading and writing. Special care is given to each child's spontaneous and uninhibited behavior toward the new language through the active exploration of specialized learning materials. Lively illustrations, colorful materials, picture-cued exercises, songs, games, entertaining dialogues, short narrations, phonetic drills, etc., engage the children in an interactive approach which allows them, over time, to move from simple structures of the language to more complex ones until they are able to communicate successfully in the new language. We also offer tutoring to support children and teenagers in their endeavor to learn and improve upon a new language, preparing them for school or college exams. By offering personalized, one-on-one settings, we can focus intensely on all language skills, which is the key to learning that often gets neglected in larger classroom settings. Please take a look at our schedule and our specialized children's programs Das Sprachmobil and Hindi for Children on Sundays.
Classes are available in group, semi-private and private format.

AP Classes For Spanish, French and German
For these classes the teachers first determine the strenghts and weaknesses of the students to then develop a study plan, build their knowledge, sharpen their test taking skills and strategies and create the confidence to give their best during the exam.
Depending on the students' preference we either use their own materials or suggest materials that are comparable to those of the exam and contain exercises both written and oral, designed to meet the general objectives of the advanced language course, as well as preparing the student for the advanced placement exam. The materials focus on the specific skills emphazised by the AP course: listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar of the language.
Prices and Schedule:
Private classes can be arranged at any time, semi-private classes and group classes as soon as we have 2 students (semi-private classes) or a minimum of 3 students (group classes) who are at the same level and available at the same time.
Physics and Math Tutoring
LanguageArts is happy to add Moe Nejad to our team of teachers to tutor middle and high school students in math and physics.
Moe got a bachelor's degree in applied physics and has been a high school physics instructor from 1985-2000 at Razi High School in Iran. Since then he has been tutoring students in physics and math in Palo Alto.
In order to get started with the tutoring sessions we would like to suggest a meeting with Moe, during which he will perform a basic evaluation of the student's ability level. In his teaching Moe believes that it is essential to first build a strong foundation to build up the students confidence level by helping them to first master simple problems and then guide them to the appropriate level of challenges to strengthen their problem solving ability.
With his vast teaching experience he is able to adjust easily to the learning style each individual student. In his own words :"I can teach the hardest subject to any student, if I am given the necessary time."
Private and small group instructions are available during the week and on the weekend.
The costs are:
- One-on-One $80 per hour
- 2 students: $45 per hour per student
- 3-5 students: $35 per hour per students
Please feel free to contact us at any time and we are happy to provide you with more information about Moe's teaching background and answer any questions you might have:
With best regards and we are looking forward to hearing from you ,

Sprachmobil is a class for German speaking children on a native speaker level for ages K-High School.
Zwergenschule for Pre-K German speaking children, to expose them to letters and sounds in German, read stories, sing songs and play in German.
Wichtelstunde a weekly get-together for parents and toddlers to sing, play, create and enjoy in German.
And yes, we are continuing with "Sprachmobil" a class for German speaking children on a native speaker level for ages K-Highschool.
The groups are formed according to age and ability levels. We follow programs used in schools in Germany and recommended by teachers. In class, depending on age group, we focus on learning a new letter, work on reading and writing and communication skills, learn about grammar and add stories, games, songs and activities to make new friends and to make it fun to come and join a class at Sprachmobil after a day at school.
The groups are small with a maximum of 6 children per group, so that each child receives the personal attention he/she needs as a support in the learning process.
Kleines Sprachmobil for children K-Highschool who grew up around German and have a passive knowledge of the language amd who want to improve their speaking skills. The class is a mixture between German as a foreign language and "Sprachmobil" (German for native speakers).
Floetenspiel und Maerchenstunde: Recorder is ideal as a first instrument for children to enrich their lives easely through music. We will use a modern muic program from Germany, learning new songs and old favorites, sing songs and listen to stories in German and talk about them inspring the creative part in each child. Age recommendation: 6-9 years.
Plapperstunde is a playful get-together Saturday mornings to speak, sing, craft, play games and listen to stories in German. The program is based on our successful summer camp, that was voted by the children as their "favorite activity of the summer."
My daughter loves her German class each week. I'm amazed how much she has learned in her first year learning with Katja. She now reads and writes and enjoys learning German. The amount of home work is reasonable and keeps learning the language fun. Katja is very flexible and her classes are well organized. She works with the parents on the level of achievements and adjusts her classes and schedule accordingly. Thank you, for an excellent experience. Silke
My daughter has been taking the German Sprachmobil-Class at Language Arts since last Fall, and I highly recommend the classes. The classes are very small so each child gets lots of individual attention, and the instructors use a fun yet effective approach. When my daughter started taking Kindergarten-level classes last Fall, she could not read or write in German, and only six months later she is now able to read German books for beginning readers on her own. The instructors are always extremely well prepared, and keep the classes interesting and interactive, and classes are tailored towards the students' level of proficiency. I have been very impressed with the progress my daughter has made in such a short amount of time while having fun at the same time. Julie H.
Our two kids, 6 and 8 years old, have been attending Language Arts afternoon classes in German for about a year. We speak German at home but would like for them to be able to read and write it as well. Their teacher Katja finds a great balance between academics and fun, engaging them with different activities even after a long day at school. Our 8-year old is now reading books in German and started to write letters to her family in German. We are thrilled with the progress both children have made at Language Arts. Harry & Eva W.
